International Relations Office

International Relations Office (IRO) of the University of Economics in Bratislava (UEB) is responsible for the strategy and planning of the international relations and co-ordinates the university international activities. It is the central information service for foreign students and other foreign guests who are studying, working or visiting the University. It provides expert guidance related to international affairs. In addition, the Office is responsible for organising and financing of foreign journeys of the university staff.

IRO distributes the informations about the bilateral agreements between the University of Economics in Bratislava and its partner institutions and about various international programmes (LLP/Erasmus, CEEPUS, etc.) and their co-ordination, contracting, reporting and financing. It also collects feedback materials related to the international issues.

As far as Erasmus programme is concerned, IRO is in charge in co-ordinating the Earsmus activities, making life easier for incoming exchange students and for outgoing students from the University of Economics in Bratislava. It co-ordinates international students' application process, informs students on the application procedure, mails the application material and collects, registers and distributes the applications. Within the framework of international programmes IRO also co-ordinates the traineeship of Slovak students in company and institution in abroad and foreign students in Slovakia.

In order to support student exchanges IRO, in co-operation with faculties and central offices, offers to foreign students high quality services for all their needs starting from accommodation up to integration. The staff compiles study guides, presentation materials and promotion materials on international activities.

IRO co-ordinates and gives an administrative support, in co-operation with the partner institutions from abroad, to the programmes taught in foreign languages (International Management – in English, Internationales Finanzmanagement – in German, Management des Vents – in French).

To strengthen the international dimension of the University, IRO is developing and organising Student Advisory Centre to offer counselling services to students and university staff, to monitor implementation of international programmes, to train faculties' administrators, etc. It also continues to promote the international activities of the University of Economics in Bratislava within the European Union and all over the world.
