GENERAL AIM
- Standardisation of Teaching Methods of Less Popular European Languages
- Development of a standardised curriculum for intensive courses and introductory modules focusing on the requirements of young employees, interns and exchange students
SPECIFIC AIM
- To support the beneficiaries with the most effective language teaching method at the level of beginners
- To contribute to effective communication in a new language environment (work and social)
- To encourage beneficiaries to study less popular European languages
- To promote and improve the status of less popular languages
THE PROJECT ADRESSES THE FOLLOWING NEEDS
- To increase the number of persons undertaking jobs in EU countries
- To elaborate teaching methodologies with the aim to satisfy the needs of the beneficiaries
- To remove language barriers to enhance the mobility of young employees, interns and students in EU countries
- To provide better job or training opportunities for employees
- To facilitate communication in workplaces where employees do not speak the most-widely spoken languages (English, French, German, Spanish)
- To improve conditions for the mobile workforce in the EU (Promoting Language Learning and Linguistic Diversity – Consultation, Brussels, 13 November, 2002)
- To promote linguistic diversity and language learning (Council Resolution, 14 February 2002, Laeken Declaration)
- To enhance the role of less popular European languages
