Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of France to the Slovak Republic, H.E. Christoph Léonzi presented to students the most recent political and economic situation in France. His lecture took place on 26 February 2019 as a part of Diplomacy in Practice lecture series.

The ambassador was was officially welcomed at the University by Mr Boris Mattoš, vice-rector for international realtions. Discussed at the meeting was cooperation between the University of Economics in Bratislava and French universities. Mr François-Xavier Mortreuil, attaché for sciences and higher education at French embassy and Mr Jaroslav Kita, coordinator of francophone studies at the Faculty of Commerce of the University of Economics in Bratislava were also present at the meeting.

Ambassador Léonzi highlighted good relations between France and Slovakia. Both countries are linked not only by history but also by current cooperation in several areas. The University of Economics in Bratislava makes a significant contribution to strengthening good relations through cooperation with 45 French universities. The EUBA faculties provide international degree programmes offered as double diplomas in cooperation with the Université de Lorraine (Faculty of Commerce) and the Université de Strasbourg (Faculty of Business Management), specialized courses in French (last year 33 subjects) and French language courses. Currently, 64 students from France are studying in the University of Economics in Bratislava in the academic year of 2018/2019.
