Obtaining the status of a student with specific needs
Once you have been enrolled in the first or upper year, you have the right to apply forthe status of a student with specific needs at the beginning of the academic year or during the academic year (at the latest before the start of the exam period).
The first step is to initiate personal contact with the faculty coordinator of the relevant EUBA faculty. The coordinator will guide you on how to apply for a specific needs assessment and the award of reasonable adjustments and support services.
Along with the application, you submit supporting documents, in particular, medical certificates and/or certificates from CPPS, on the basis of which the coordinator will prepare a recommendation for granting the status of a student with specific needs and address it to the dean of the faculty.
By decision of the dean of the faculty, you will be granted the status of a student with specific needs and will be entitled to reasonable adjustments and support services for one academic year. Reasonable adjustments and support services are set up so that their transformation into a satisfactory form of study does not lower the academic standards of the programme of study.
Certificates of health
- proof of disability (if you are a person with a serious health disability - PSHD card)
- a medical certificate from a medical specialist
- confirmation on learning disabilities
Important notice
- A student holding a PSHD card is not automatically classified as a student with specific needs.
- The status of specific needs is granted and valid for one academic year.
- Support services and reasonable adjustments are set up so that the organisation of study for students with specific needs is comparable to that of other students.
- The status of a student with specific needs is not a tool to reduce the curriculum content, but a support tool to create adequate conditions that take into account the student's disability. Reasonable adjustments and support services are provided so that they do not lower the academic standards, requirements for the acquisition of the knowledge, skills and competencies necessary to qualify in a given programme of study.
- Medical reports and health information are confidential. This information is handled exclusively by the coordinator for students with specific needs.
