The Ambassador of Bulgaria to Slovakia H.E. Yordanka Chobanova gave a lecture on March 6, 2018, as a part of the 23rd edition of the course Diplomacy in Practice. The UEBA has a long-running academic cooperation with several universities in Bulgaria. Ms. Ambassador was informed about this fact by Mr. Boris Mattoš, Vice-Rector for International Relations and Mr. Rudolf Kucharčík, Dean of the Faculty of International Relations.

In her lecture Ambassador Chobanova focused on the mutual relations of Bulgaria and Slovakia. This year marks a celebration of the 25th anniversary of establishing bilateral co-operation between the two countries. From a foreign policy perspective, the first half of this year is very important for Bulgaria, as the country presides over the Council of the European Union. The priorities of the Bulgarian Presidency are the Western Balkans, migration and projects aimed at the development of digitization and infrastructure. Students were particularly interested in the impact of Bulgaria’s EU membership on the country’s economic indicators.
