EUBA’s rector, Prof Ferdinand Daňo signed on 4 April 2019 in Mexico City a Cooperation Agreement with Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM). ITAM is the best economic university in Mexico with excellent position in world university rankings and a triple international accreditation (AACSB, EQUIS, AMBA). The main topic of a negotiation between the ITAM management and EUBA delegation—composed of Mr Boris Mattoš, vice-rector for international relations, Ms Jana Péliová, vice-rector for management of academic projects, Mr Peter Drábik, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Ms Danka Paštéková, Department of International Cooperation—were possibilities for mutual cooperation. Both parties stressed the fact that there is a significant potential for cooperation, since the structure of both institutions is very similar and the educational and research goals are identical.

As a part of their mission in Mexico, on 1 April 2019 the EUBA delegation visited the Slovak embassy where a meeting with the ambassador, Ms Alena Gažúrová and deputy ambassador, Ms Ivona Kvorková took place. On the same day the delegation was welcomed at Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (TEC) – Campus Santa Fe. There is a long-term cooperation between the EUBA and TEC Monterrey. The objective of the visit was to discuss further possibilities for cooperation such as participation in Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility programme, winter and summer schools, educational projects, etc.

On 2 April 2019 the EUBA delegation had a meeting with the management of Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (TEC) – Campus Toluca. There is an ongoing cooperation with TEC Monterrey on Doing Business / Doing Marketing in Central Europe summer school since 2004. The negotiation included preparation of the 15th edition of the summer school that will take place at EUBA between 8 July and 2 August 2019. Some 500 students from Mexico have already participated on the summer school. In past 5 years, more than 150 students from TEC Monterrey stayed at EUBA.

During their stay in the Mexico’s capital, on 3 April 2019, the EUBA delegation visited Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). With around 350 thousand students, UNAM represents the largest university in Latin America. The university is an excellent research institution. Negotiations with the board of the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences took place in presence of professors of marketing, mathematics and international business. Both parties shared the interest in bilateral cooperation, student and teacher mobility, research and project cooperation. Agreement on cooperation between both institutions is in preparation.
