Student of the Department of Statistics of the Faculty of Economic Informatics of the University of Economics in Bratislava, Romana Šipoldová, BSc made it into Top 10 students from all over the world in the SAS Student Ambassadors category and actively participated in the largest analytical event of SAS Global Forum 2019 in Dallas, Texas.

She also presented her award-winning paper Cost-Sensitive Predictive Modelling in Digital Marketing. SAS GF 2019 was a 4-day event that included more than 700 lectures from various areas of analytics, data management, programming, education, etc. that was attended by more than 5,500 visitors.

After return, Romana described her immediate feelings as follows: “to experience the atmosphere at a conference like this is a great opportunity and motivation. Better once to see once than hear about it a thousand times. What was really interesting was a lecture by theoretical physicist and futurist Michio Kaku and CEO and founder of SAS, Jim Goodnight. For me, as a woman with ambitions in analytics and IT, it was inspirational to listen to the stories of Reshma Saujani, the founder of Girls who Code. I greatly appreciate that I have become one of the SAS Student Ambassadors. ”

Double victory of the Department of Statistics was underlined by Ondrej Dúžik, PhD. who is also among the 17 winners from around the world in his category SAS Faculty Scholarship.
