The International Office of the University of Economics in Bratislava organized a photo contest for exchange students from the summer semester of 2023/2024, running from February 5 to March 5, 2024, aiming to enhance both the technical and artistic aspects of photography.
The theme "Bratislava through My Eyes" allowed students to share their perspectives of Bratislava through photography. The International Office announced three winners, honoured by Boris Mattoš, the Vice-Rector for International Relations.
The winners included the first place of Mareike from K. University of Nürtingen-Geislingen (HfWU) in Germany, who shared a photo titled “Sunset on the Danube”, and said: „I was walking around with my friends through the city, and we walked across the river as the sun was setting. I thought it would be a beautiful landscape to take a picture!“. The second place of Philippine D. from the University of Savoy Mont Blanc - Chambery in France, with a photograph titled “Lights Awakening Bratislava's Hidden Beauty”, said „I was inspired by all the lights at the end of the day, shining on the old buildings and revealing their beauty!”, and the third place of Ismael L. from the University of Granada in Spain, who conveyed his perspective with a photo titled “Spring Arrival”, mentioned: “I saw that the UFO was different from anything I've seen before, so I took a photo!”.
