From April 15th to April 19th, 2024, the International Office of the University of Economics in Bratislava organized the meeting of representatives from partner higher education institutions outside EU with which cooperates within Erasmus+ program – Key Action 171.

Representatives of the University of Sarajevo, the Ivane Javakhishvili State University in Tbilisi and the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) participated in a numerous interesting meetings at several departments of the University of Economics as part of teaching and staff mobilities. In particular, they got comprehensive insight into the agenda of International Office. Mobilities from Georgia offered courses for the students of the Faculty of Economics and Finance, within subject Economic Policy. 

Strengthening the position of the University of Economics in Bratislava is one of the university's strategic goals in the international context. In its internationalization strategy, the EUBA focuses on cooperation with high-quality foreign universities, whose profiles correspond to demanding international accreditation standards. During individual negotiations, the vision of all represented organizations in this area was presented.

The University of Economics in Bratislava has been for a long time among the universities in Slovakia with the biggest percentage of foreign students and employees on an exchange basis. In the academic year 2023/2024, the EUBA accepted from the participating universities 1 student from the University of Sarajevo and 2 students from the Ivane Javakhishvili State University in Tbilisi. As for outgoing students, in the academic year 2024/2025, 1 third-degree student will study in Georgia, and one EUBA student will study in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During the meetings, there were also presentations on the topic of winter and summer schools provided by the EUBA with the aim of deepening professional knowledge and gaining international and intercultural experience.

In addition to the possibility of internationalization of the represented institutions, the event provided a great opportunity for establishing new partnerships within the Erasmus+ mobility programs. The participants expressed their gratitude for the provided full-fledged professional program, as well as for the provision of a cultural program in the dimension of a Bratislava city tour and a participation at the Winefest, traditionally organized by the Faculty of Commerce of the EUBA.
