On the occasion of the World Day of Languages, a unique festival Lingvafest2025 – an event dedicated to foreign languages, cultures and international understanding – took place at the Bratislava University of Economics and Business on 11 and 12 September 2025. The main organizer was the civic association Edukácia a Internet, in cooperation with the Representation of the European Commission in Slovakia and the Faculty of Applied Languages EUBA.
Faculty teachers, both domestic and foreign, have prepared a rich program: workshops, seminars, language crash courses, lectures, interactive presentations, and a discussion on the future of multilingualism in the EU.
International guests and cultural diversity
Several foreign institutions, including cultural and language centers, embassies, and organizations active in the field of education and mobility, participated in the festival. Visitors could network with experts, obtain information about studying abroad, summer language schools, scholarship programs, and exchange stays.
The accompanying program also included language games, quizzes, interactive booths, simulations of cultural rituals, and tastings of traditional foods, which further enhanced the experience of the multicultural environment.
Record attendance and positive feedback
Lingvafest2025 recorded a record attendance – more than 3,500 registered visitors over two days, the majority of whom were primary and secondary school students from all over Slovakia. The event thus confirmed its status as one of the largest language festivals in the country and one of the largest events organized on the territory of EUBA.
Participants appreciated not only the high professional level of the program, but also its playful, innovative and motivating character. The festival was carried out in the spirit of openness, curiosity and cooperation – values that are key for contemporary Europe.
