The Bratislava University of Economics and Business (EUBA) welcomed 132 international exchange students from 24 countries across Europe, Asia, and North America at the beginning of the winter semester of the 2026/2027 academic year. The students came to EUBA through the Erasmus+ programme, bilateral cooperation agreements, and the National Scholarship Programme.
The university’s international character this semester is further enriched by students from traditional partner countries such as France, Germany, Spain, and Portugal, as well as from more distant destinations including Canada, the USA, Japan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam.
To help our new international students settle into university life and make the most of their experience at EUBA, the International Office, in cooperation with Erasmus Student Network (ESN EU Bratislava), organized a Welcome Week from 14 to 20 September 2026.
One of the highlights of the programme was the International Students Welcome Event, held on 16 September. The event opened with a performance by a Slovak folk ensemble, introducing students to traditional Slovak music and dance and offering a glimpse into the country’s rich cultural heritage. The programme continued with a welcome address by Boris Mattoš, Vice-Rector for International Relations, who warmly greeted the incoming students and wished them a successful and enriching stay at EUBA.
Representatives of the International Office then provided essential academic and practical information to help students navigate their studies and daily life in Bratislava. Members of ESN EU Bratislava also played a key role throughout the event by assisting with registration, leading campus tours, and organizing ice-breaking activities that encouraged students to connect with one another and become familiar with the university environment.
Throughout Welcome Week, ESN EU Bratislava, in collaboration with the International Office, organized a variety of social and cultural activities designed to help students build friendships and discover Bratislava. The programme included a Welcome Dinner, City Tour, Welcome Party, and several other events that fostered intercultural exchange and community building among participants.
The support provided by the International Office continues well beyond Welcome Week. Throughout the semester, international students will have the opportunity to participate in a range of activities, including the Photography Contest, International Study Abroad Fair, Snack & Chat sessions, and many other events. More information about upcoming activities and student life at EUBA can be found on our Instagram account @studyateuba.
We wish all incoming students a rewarding academic experience and an unforgettable stay at EUBA and in Bratislava.
